Our Mission

From Me To You (FMTY) will focus on kids and children, especially the importance of family in the developmental process of a child. We would like to explore surface level concepts of the psychological conscience and influence of the relationships between adults and children. As an aspiring educators, we want to see how my role as an adult will affect my students and children in the future. We would like to learn to the best of our abilities how we as a community can positively impact the students and children around us.

We believe it is important to understand how children think and their developmental process because they are very vulnerable, impressionable, and the future generation of mankind. We believe it is important for adults to invest their time and effort in children. It is significant to know how children see the world and how they grow up to perceive the world because who they become determines the outcome of the world. Children are important to each community because they directly influence the economics, social life, and politics of the community.

What to expect?

From our website, you can expect to find information, blog posts, and videos on the development of children and the importance of an adult and child relationship in the character development and perceived perspective of the world of children. We would like to learn and inform others through our website the importance of culture and community environment in the development and formation of a child’s morals, values, and perspective on the world.

Each week we will post an article addressing the question of the week. These questions will be part of a series spanning a couple months dedicated to address a general and larger topic. For example, a topic could be Childbirth. The first series would be about “midwives” and the question of the week could be, “What is the process of a home birth?”

About Me

My name is Manna and I am currently a Senior at University of Minnesota-Crookston. I am keeping up with this website as an assignment for one of my courses this 2020 Spring semester. I am studying English in hopes of getting my Bachelors of Science in English with a minor in Writing and Humanities. I am debating between a profession in teaching students and a profession invested in writing. I enjoy anything relating to history and culture, so I believe an English degree will be most helpful and promising for my future aspirations.

I live in Minnesota near the Twin Cities. I recently got back from South Korea from my 6 month teaching program. From my experience living in South Korea, I have found that I enjoy working with children but what interests me most is the personal lives of the children I worked with. I am fascinated in how my Korean students grew up to be so different yet just as similar to the kids I know in the states. It is because of this curiosity that I’ve decided to dedicate this website to the education of the development of children in correlation to culture.
